Ethan Bramble, known online as “ModBoy,” began altering his appearance at just 11 years old. Over the years, he invested nearly $39,000 into body modifications, including over 200 tattoos, stretched ears, and a split tongue. His extreme look became his identity, turning him into a walking piece of art and drawing constant public attention.
However, now at 24 and a father, Ethan has begun to feel differently. He shared that while his appearance was once a form of self-expression, it later became a source of discomfort and judgment. Most of all, he worries about how his look might affect his young daughter’s life, and how the world may treat them because of it.
Motivated by a desire to start over, Ethan has begun laser tattoo removal—a painful and expensive process. He has already completed multiple sessions to lighten his tattoos and hopes to “clear the canvas” to feel more at ease in his daily life. The journey is difficult, but for Ethan, it represents growth and a second chance.
Ethan doesn’t deny who he was, but he’s embracing change. His story is a reminder that it’s never too late to evolve. No matter how permanent something may seem, transformation is possible through courage, reflection, and the willingness to move forward.
