2/When I was a little girl, my mother taught me how to use a code word if I was in trouble and couldn’t speak up

Michael groaned. “Nick has been asking about my schedule for months. I thought he was just being nosy.”The woman, Sonya, admitted she had ignored red flags but was ready for revenge. Michael texted Nick, inviting him over for lasagna. When Nick arrived, he was shocked to see Sonya. Michael leaned in and said, “We all know what you’ve been up to, ‘Michael.’”

Sonya then tossed a glass of water in Nick’s face, and after a tense moment, Nick admitted he used Michael’s apartment to avoid dating costs. Michael made him pay for the rent that month and return all the gifts he’d received from Sonya. As Nick sulked away, Sonya turned to me with a grin. “That was fun.” We ended the evening with lasagna, laughter, and a new friendship. Sometimes, revenge and a good meal are all you need for a successful day.
