Breaking News: Supreme Court Reinstates Anti-Money-Laundering Statute In Emergency Ruling

The Supreme Court has reinstated the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) while legal challenges continue, overturning an injunction that had blocked its enforcement. The law, requiring small businesses to disclose ownership details to combat financial crimes, has faced strong opposition from business groups and conservative advocates,

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented, arguing the government failed to justify urgent intervention. The case now returns to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, where the Justice Department must defend the law’s constitutionality. Meanwhile, the ruling allows the government to begin implementing the CTA despite ongoing legal disputes.
