Posted on January 12, 2025 By admin

SPAM, created by Hormel Foods in 1937, is a versatile canned meat that has become a pantry staple. Its name’s true meaning is unclear, with theories ranging from “Shoulder of Pork And Ham” to “Specially Processed American Meat.” Made from six simple ingredients—pork,

with ham, salt, water, potato starch sugar, and sodium nitrite—SPAM comes in various flavors like Hickory Smoke and Hot & Spicy. The name was suggested by Ken Daigneau, who won $100 in a naming contest. SPAM’s culinary versatility allows it to be used in a variety of dishes, making it a beloved ingredient for many.
